Sexually transmitted diseases (‘STDs’) are an increasing problem, especially between young people and they are spread worldwide. However, there is a lot that can be done to prevent catching them and, if needed, to cure them. STDs can be asymptomatic or symptomatic. Yet, even when asymptomatic, in some cases, STDs can lead to infertility, organ damage, cancer or even death. Let’s take a look together at what STDs are, the most common symptoms, how you can prevent yourself from catching them and when to consult with a doctor. Elvira ist member of the KSG and studying Medicine at Charité. She will lead us through this evening.
